Baseball Recap: Sanford Victorious

It's playoff time, and Sanford had no trouble coming through when it counted. They had just enough and edged out the Massabesic Mustangs 4-3 on Tuesday. This was a revenge game for the Spartans: when they faced off against the Mustangs back in May, they had to take a 4-0 defeat.

Brady Adams made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits (and not a single walk). Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Adams wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Scott Robitaille Jr, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that Robitaille Jr has hit this season.

Sanford's win bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Massabesic, they now have a losing record of 8-9-1.

As of now, neither Sanford nor the Mustangs have any future games scheduled.
