Softball Recap: Greece Arcadia Comes Up Short

Greece Arcadia extended their losing streak to five on Wednesday, dropping them down to 1-9. They came up short against the Rush-Henrietta Royal Comets, falling 12-0. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Titans haven't been shut out since back in April.

As for Rush-Henrietta, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 13-9 record. Considering they have won seven matchups by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Rush-Henrietta's part, Kendall Buttles was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 15 over six innings pitched. Buttles has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Rush-Henrietta let Kyla Piedici and Delaney Buttles run wild. Piedici went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double, while Buttles went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those four hits gave Piedici a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Etta Neubeck, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

As of now, neither Greece Arcadia nor Rush-Henrietta have any future games scheduled.
