Live Oak has gone a perfect 4-0 against Prospect recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Acorns will challenge the Panthers at 4:00 p.m.
Live Oak blew Gilroy out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Thursday Gilroy got their revenge. The Acorns fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Acorns have suffered against the Mustangs since March 1, 2019.
Austin Meads was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Casey Scannell made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
Meanwhile, Prospect got themselves on the board against Hill on Saturday, but Hill never followed suit. They blew past the Falcons 10-0. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by six runs or more this season.
Hill's batters probably weren't too happy with Alex Hand, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 11 Ks (he gave up zero walks).
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kevin-Joseph Rieden, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Prospect's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-9 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Ethan Roth, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Prospect always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Prospect has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Live Oak, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-12.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Live Oak has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Prospect struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Live Oak was able to grind out a solid victory over Prospect in their previous matchup back in April of 2017, winning 4-0. Will the Acorns repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
