Soccer Game Preview: Republic vs. Webb City

The Republic Tigers will square off against the Webb City Cardinals at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Webb City will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Republic extended their winning streak to four on Tuesday. The Tigers never let Central get on the board and left with a 1-0 win. Give Republic's defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Meanwhile, Webb City managed to keep up with Springfield Catholic until halftime on Thursday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Cardinals lost 6-1 to the Fighting Irish. While losing is never fun, Webb City can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri soccer rankings (they are ranked 157th, while Springfield Catholic are ranked second).

Webb City's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Republic, the victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 5-10.
