Baseball Recap: Fayette Takes a Loss

If Fayette was feeling good fresh off their 7-0 takedown of Calvary Lutheran on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Falcons fell 5-1 to the South Callaway Bulldogs on Tuesday.

Fayette saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Parker LaValley, who went 2-for-3 with one double. That double marked the first that LaValley has hit this season.

Fayette dropped their record down to 4-15 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road. As for South Callaway, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-10 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fayette will challenge Prairie Home at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for South Callaway, they will square off against Hermann at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bearcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.18 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
