Football Recap: Rockridge Victorious

Rockridge hadn't done well against Princeton recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Rockets came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 36-29. For the Rockets, this counts as revenge for the 27-18 victory the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Despite the loss, Princeton still got an impressive performance from Casey Etheridge, who rushed for 177 yards and two scores while picking up 8.9 yards per carry. Etheridge's longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards. Kaleb Caldwell got in on the action as well, returning a kick for a touchdown.

Rockridge has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 29 points this season. As for Princeton, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Rockridge and Princeton will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Rockets will face off against rival Riverdale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Princeton is set to take on their familiar foe Sherrard at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
