Basketball Recap: Newman Central Catholic Victorious

After losing to Beecher the last time they met, Newman Central Catholic decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Newman Central Catholic Comets secured a 52-48 W over the Beecher Bobcats on Saturday.

Newman Central Catholic has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 7-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.5 points per game. As for Beecher, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 7-7.

Newman Central Catholic will face off against Rockford Christian on Saturday. As for Beecher, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Donovan at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
