Softball Recap: Orange Cove's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

Orange Cove can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Madera South Stallions as the Orange Cove Titans made off with a 16-3 win. The Titans' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Daisy Regalado made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one RBI. That RBI marked the first that she brought in this season.

In other batting news, Kassandra Ocejo was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing Three bases. while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Danika Del Bosque, who scored three runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-3.

Orange Cove always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Orange Cove's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Madera South, their loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Orange Cove will welcome Woodlake at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Woodlake knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past six matches -- so hopefully Orange Cove likes a good challenge. As for Madera South, they will challenge Firebaugh at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
