Basketball Recap: BASIS Red Giants vs. DC International Dragons
BASIS lost against DC International back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The BASIS Red Giants might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the DC International Dragons an easy 72-51 victory. The Red Giants have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
DC International's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kai Hegwood, who dropped a triple-double on 11 points, ten boards, and ten blocks. With that strong performance, Hegwood is now averaging an impressive 2.6 blocks per game. Another player making a difference was Jhalil Route, who went 6 of 11 en route to 14 points and five assists.
BASIS now has a losing record at 2-3. As for DC International, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-6 record this season.
BASIS wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 72-29 loss against Digital Pioneers Academy on the 19th. As for DC International, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 70-33 victory against Idea on the 18th.
