Preview: Ooltewah Owls vs. Howard Tech Hustlin' Tigers
The Ooltewah Owls will head out on the road to face off against the Howard Tech Hustlin' Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with eight consecutive losses for Ooltewah and seven for Howard Tech.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 42-12, which was the final score in Ooltewah's tilt against Coffee County Central on Friday. Ooltewah was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-6.
Although Ooltewah took the loss, they still got scores from Josh Davis and Brent Baddley.
Meanwhile, Howard Tech fell victim to Chattanooga Central's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were dealt a 42-0 defeat at the hands of the Pounders.
Ooltewah's loss was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 1-8. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 11.6 points per game. As for Howard Tech, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.
Everything came up roses for Ooltewah against Howard Tech when the teams last played back in September of 2022 as the squad secured a 32-0 win. Does Ooltewah have another victory up their sleeve, or will Howard Tech turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
