Baseball Recap: North Mustangs vs. Metro Tech Knights

North was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Metro Tech Knights.

Joey Morales was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over six innings while giving up four earned runs off seven hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.

Morales wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was David Marquez, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. As for Metro Tech, they will challenge La Joya Community at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
