Hutchinson and South are an even 4-4 against one another since April of 2015, but likely not for long. The Salthawks will take on the Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hutchinson's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Hutchinson is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Kansas' top teams: Trinity Academy, who was ranked 20th at the time (Hutchinson was ranked 25th). The Salthawks came up short against the Knights on Thursday, falling 4-0.

Meanwhile, after soaring to five goals the game before, South was a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They fell just short of Buhler by a score of 1-0.

South's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Hutchinson, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 8-6.

Everything went Hutchinson's way against South in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Hutchinson made off with a 5-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Salthawks since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
