Basketball Game Preview: Fairfield Eagles vs. Grandview Zebras

The Fairfield Eagles will take on the Grandview Zebras on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Fairfield is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They blew past Franklin 73-40. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Grandview came tearing into Monday's game with 13 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 75-30 victory over the Bulldogs. Given the Zebras' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 160th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 1056th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Grandview's win bumped their record up to 32-3. As for Fairfield, their victory bumped their record up to 28-6.

Fairfield suffered a grim 57-36 defeat to Grandview when the teams last played back in November of 2017. Can Fairfield avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
