Volleyball Recap: Fremd Takes a Loss

Fremd lost against Buffalo Grove back in August of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Vikings fell just short of the Bison by a score of 2-1. While the Vikings didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bison 25-18 in the first set.

Fremd actually scored more points across those three sets (71-68), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-23, 25-23.

Fremd's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 16-5. As for Buffalo Grove, the win snapped their losing streak at five matches and leaves them with a 8-9 record.

Fremd and Buffalo Grove should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Vikings will challenge Lake Zurich at 6:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (32 vs. 103). Meanwhile, Buffalo Grove (ranked 195th) will meet Hoffman Estates (ranked 424th) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
