Football Recap: Unity Christian/Mt. Pulaski Starts Season with Loss on the Road + How To Watch

Unity Christian/Mt. Pulaski had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They came up short against the Metro-East Lutheran Knights, falling 34-12. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it seven in a row.

Although Unity Christian/Mt. Pulaski took the loss, they still got scores from Jaeden Jackson and Isaiah Johnson.

Abe Oberhauser was a one-man wrecking crew For Metro-East Lutheran. as he rushed for 212 yards on only 11 carries, and also picked up 50 receiving yards. Oberhauser's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 126 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Unity Christian/Mt. Pulaski and Metro-East Lutheran will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Lions will challenge rival Blue Ridge/Christ Lutheran/DeLand-Weldon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Metro-East Lutheran is set to square off against their familiar foe Hutsonville/Palestine at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
