Basketball Recap: Rising Sun Snaps Ten-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Rising Sun entered their match against Patterson Mill on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Rising Sun Tigers lost 57-37 to Patterson Mill. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 56-38 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

Sophia Trinh was the offensive standout of the game as she posted 11 points along with seven assists and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in assists. Another player making a difference was Ava Ward, who scored eight points and ten boards.

Rising Sun's loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-4. As for Patterson Mill, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-3 record.

Rising Sun will square off against C. Milton Wright at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. C. Milton Wright will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Rising Sun surely won't give up without a fight.
