Baseball Recap: Upper Sandusky Extends Road Winning Streak to Five

Upper Sandusky never let their opponents score on Monday. Everything went their way against the Buckeye Central Bucks as they made off with a 14-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Bucks: they've now won eight in a row.

Justin Heilman made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on David Gibson, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Kaleb Francis, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Upper Sandusky always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in four consecutive matches.
