Tyler H extended their winning streak to five on Friday, bumping them up to 5-0. They were the clear victors by a 70-47 margin over the CHAAMP HomeSchool Hawks. That 23 point margin sets a new team best for the HEAT this season.

Tyler H can attribute much of their success to Eli Maldonado, who made all 5 shots he took to post 14 points. Thanks to that strong game, Maldonado now owns an excellent 55% field goal percentage. Daniel Putman also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Tyler H smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.

As for CHAAMP HomeSchool, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. The loss continues a trend for them in their meetings with Tyler H: they've now lost eight in a row.

CHAAMP HomeSchool lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Caleb Carlisle, who went 5-for-11 on his way to 16 points. He is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Charlie Harrison, who posted six points.

Coincidentally, Tyler H and CHAAMP HomeSchool will both be playing East Texas Homeschool Sports the next time they take the court. The Hawks will head out to face the Chargers at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, while the HEAT will play them later in the day, at 4:15 p.m.
