Preview: Delta Rabbits vs. Providence Hall Patriots
The Delta Rabbits will head out on the road to face off against the Providence Hall Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Delta is no doubt hoping to put an end to a nine-game streak of away losses.
Delta struggled with assists on Friday (Richfield had eight more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Delta's tough 61-36 defeat to Richfield might stick with them for a while. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Delta has scored all season.
Cai Henderson put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 27 points along with two blocks. He hasn't dropped below 16 points for 13 straight games. Another player making a difference was Bronco Bundy, who scored five points.
Meanwhile, Providence Hall's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight defeat. They fell just short of Summit Academy by a score of 63-61. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Delta has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 13 of their last 16 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season. As for Providence Hall, their loss dropped their record down to 7-15.
Delta came up short against Providence Hall when the teams last played back in February of 2019, falling 59-53. Can Delta avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
