Softball Recap: Crowley Takes a Loss

Crowley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 17-6 to the Weatherford Kangaroos. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Kangaroos this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-1 on March 4th.

Riley Bell was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 4-for-5. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kenzli Brooks, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Crowley's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12-2. As for Weatherford, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7.

Looking ahead, Crowley will head out on the road to take on Boswell at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Boswell's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Crowley's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Weatherford, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mansfield Legacy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mansfield Legacy will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Weatherford surely won't give up without a fight.
