Baseball Recap: Spaulding Comes Up Short

Spaulding came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Goffstown Grizzlies, falling 8-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Red Raiders of the 2-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2019.

Spaulding saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trevor Cormier, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. Greyson Holmes also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Spaulding has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4-1 record this season. As for Goffstown, the win keeps they at an undefeated 4-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Spaulding will face off against Winnacunnet at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The last three games the Warriors have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Goffstown, they are taking a road trip to take on Trinity at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
