Baseball Preview: Arcadia Titans vs. Mesquite Wildcats
The Arcadia Titans will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Mesquite Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.
Last Tuesday, Arcadia never let their opponents score. Everything went their way against St. Mary's as Arcadia made off with a 10-0 victory. The win was just what Arcadia needed coming off of a 7-1 loss in their prior matchup.
Arcadia got a great performance from Danny Harris as he didn't allow a single earned run and only two hits over five innings pitched.
At the plate, Garon Dreier was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Caleb Tucker was another key contributor, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Meanwhile, in what's become a running theme this season, Mesquite gave their fans yet another huge victory on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by an 11-1 margin over St. Mary's. The win was some much needed relief for Mesquite as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.
Joshua Lucero was excellent, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Kash Rogers, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Arcadia's victory bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Mesquite, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 14-9.
Arcadia suffered a grim 16-3 defeat to Mesquite in their previous matchup back in April of 2023. Can Arcadia avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
