Softball Recap: Pickering Comes Up Short

Pickering was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Vinton Lions. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Red Devils of the 7-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2023.

Pickering saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Makenzie Legans, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Legans brought in this season.

Pickering's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Vinton, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-13.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pickering will take on Ebarb at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Vinton, they will face off against Rosepine at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
