Baseball Game Preview: Lordstown Red Devils vs. Chalker Wildcats

Lordstown is 2-7 against Chalker since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Red Devils will be playing at home against the Wildcats at 5:00 p.m.

Lordstown is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 12th straight game dating back to last season on Monday. They lost 15-0 to Grand Valley.

Meanwhile, after only one run in their last game, Chalker made sure to put some runs up on the board against Harding on Monday. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Skippers with a sharp 13-7 victory. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Skippers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Nick Karr looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Chalker got a massive performance out of Tegun Noble, who scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. Noble is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played dating back to last season. Ryan Herdman was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

The victory got Chalker back to even at 1-1. As for Lordstown, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Lordstown suffered a grim 11-0 defeat to Chalker in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Red Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
