Flag Football Recap: Archbishop Riordan Takes a Loss

Archbishop Riordan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 26-25 heartbreaker at the hands of the Sacred Heart Prep Gators. The Crusaders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Gators apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Archbishop Riordan's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Sacred Heart Prep, their win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Archbishop Riordan is set to square off against their familiar foe Lincoln at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Sacred Heart Prep will face off against rival St. Ignatius College Preparatory at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
