Softball Recap: Paterson Charter School for Science and Technology Starts Season with Victory at Home

Paterson Charter School for Science and Technology gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. Everything went their way against the Garfield Boilermakers as Paterson Charter School for Science and Technology made off with a 17-7 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Lions also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Analeigh Feliciano made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Feliciano was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Paterson Charter School for Science and Technology got a massive performance out of Mehkalie Jones, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Those three runs gave Jones a new career-high. Troi Jackson was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Paterson Charter School for Science and Technology Lions duke it out with Cresskill Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Garfield, they will welcome Lyndhurst at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
