Baseball Recap: Pinnacle Classical Academy Gets the Win

Pinnacle Classical Academy was not the first on the board on Thursday, but they got there more often. They skirted past the Bessemer City Yellow Jackets 6-4. The Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Yellow Jackets, too.

The team relied heavily on Keegan McIntyre, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake McNeily, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Pinnacle Classical Academy's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Bessemer City, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pinnacle Classical Academy will take on Mountain View Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Mustangs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.43 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Bessemer City, they will challenge Highland Tech at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
