Basketball Recap: Valley Takes a Loss

Valley lost against Burbank back in February of 2018 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Valley Vikings had to suffer through a 80-30 loss at the hands of the Burbank Titans. The Vikings were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-19.

Burbank's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Johnnie Williams, who went 5 of 10 en route to 12 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave Williams a new career-high in boards. DJ Massey was another key player, putting up eight points along with seven rebounds and four steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Valley and nudges their season record down to 3-16. As for Burbank, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Valley has already played their next game (against Johnson), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Burbank is taking a road trip to square off against West Campus at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Burbank will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
