Basketball Recap: John Paul II Comes Up Short

The Centurions were not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost to the John Paul II Guardians on the road by a 75-59 margin. Even if the Centurions couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their offense, which had struggled int the games prior.

Dj Miller was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 40 points and ten assists for the Guardians. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Miller has scored at least a third of the Guardians' points. Another player making a difference was Bryson Krug, who posted eight points in addition to six boards and three blocks.

The Centurions' defeat dropped their record down to 3-19. As for the Guardians, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-9.

The Centurions will face off against the Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for the Guardians, they will square off against the Angels at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Guardians are strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.5 points per game this season.
