Baseball Recap: Franklin's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Franklin hadn't done well against Pebble Hills recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Cougars had just enough and edged out the Spartans 8-6. The win was familiar territory for the Cougars, who have now won three games in a row.

LUCAS CORRAL was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. CORRAL was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, ADRIAN CHAVIRA and ISAIAH MATA did most of the damage at the plate: CHAVIRA went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while MATA got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run. Those two RBI gave CHAVIRA a new career-high. JADEN ENGELS was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Franklin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Franklin's victory bumped their record up to 15-12-1. As for Pebble Hills, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-11-2.

As of now, neither Franklin nor the Spartans have any future games scheduled.
