Eagle is 9-1 against Boise since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Mustangs will host the Brave at 6:30 p.m. Eagle is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.

Eagle fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Timberline on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wolves. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Mustangs, who until this contest were averaging 3.18 runs allowed.

Stephen Egan was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Eagle saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caleb Zawadzki, who scored a run while going 2-for-5. Easton Gothberg was another, going 1-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Boise fell victim to Centennial and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Patriots, falling 16-0. The Brave's defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Boise's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Eagle, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.

Eagle skirted past Boise 2-1 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Brave turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
