Softball Recap: Prestonsburg Comes Up Short

Prestonsburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 9-6 to the Morgan County Cougars. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Blackcats of the 8-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2022.

Liv Williams was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Hailey Cline was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

Prestonsburg's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Morgan County, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-9 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Prestonsburg will head out to face off against Pike County Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Morgan County, they will venture away from home to challenge East Carter at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
