Volleyball Recap: Wonewoc-Center Takes a Loss

Wonewoc-Center came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to the Royall Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Royall scored at least 20 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-22, 25-20.

Avery Miller paced Wonewoc-Center's offense, picking up eight kills. Miller got some help from Bella LeMoine and her 14 assists. Heidi Baker controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

This is the second loss in a row for Wonewoc-Center and nudges their season record down to 12-9. As for Royall, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 21-7.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Wonewoc-Center is set to face off against their familiar foe New Lisbon at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Royall will square off against rival Necedah at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
