Softball Recap: Bellville Victorious

Bellville won the last time they faced Navasota and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Brahmas came out on top against the Rattlers by a score of 7-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Brahmas.

Ella Burnett spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on six hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bellville's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kirklynne Romero, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Another was Dacie Beamon, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Bellville hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in three consecutive matchups.

Bellville picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 11-13-1. As for Navasota, their loss was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-11.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Bellville is set to take on their familiar foe Giddings at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Navasota will square off against rival Smithville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
