Baseball Game Preview: Loyola Academy Ramblers vs. Barron Collier Cougars

The Loyola Academy Ramblers will venture away from home to square off against the Barron Collier Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Last Saturday, Loyola Academy came up short against Niles Notre Dame and fell 11-7. The Ramblers have struggled against the Dons recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, Barron Collier had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Monday. They blew past the Bobcats 11-3. With that victory, the Cougars brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Khayden Collier looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Brody Graham was a standout: he scored two runs while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Felts, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Barron Collier kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.

Barron Collier pushed their record up to 14-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Loyola Academy, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
