The Grapevine Faith Christian Lions will head out on the road to face off against the All S Saints at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Grapevine Faith Christian is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Last Friday, Grapevine Faith Christian didn't have too much trouble with Bishop Dunne at home as they won 45-26. The win was just what Grapevine Faith Christian needed coming off of a 45-14 loss in their prior match.
Clayton Sobecki went supernova for Grapevine Faith Christian, rushing for 148 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.0 yards per carry, and also throwing for 231 yards and four touchdowns. Ben Wagoner was another key contributor, picking up 157 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, All S put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Fort Worth Christian 43-7 on the road. Given All S's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 191st, while Fort Worth Christian is ranked 629th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Alijah Johnson and Kelden Ryan were among the main playmakers for All S as the former rushed for 82 yards and two touchdowns and the latter threw for 178 yards and three touchdowns while completing 92.3% of his passes. All S also got help from Qumonte Williams who showed off his sure hands for 96 receiving yards.
Their wins bumped Grapevine Faith Christian to 5-5 and All S to 7-2.
Keep an eye on the end zone in Friday's game as the pair haven't had much trouble getting there this season. Grapevine Faith Christian commands a daunting offense this season, having averaged 5.1 touchdowns per game. However, it's not like All S struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.9 per game.
