Baseball Recap: Chiefland Now 6-2 over Last Eight Games

Chiefland extended their postseason success on Tuesday against Williston. They came out on top against the Red Devils by a score of 7-3. This was a revenge game for the Indians: when they faced off against the Red Devils back in March, they had to take a 7-6 defeat.

Taylor Brown spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Trey Meeks was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Chiefland is undefeated when Meeks posts two or more runs, but 7-9 otherwise. Bryce Thomas also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Chiefland is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Williston, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-11 record this season.

Chiefland will take on Trenton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Indians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 8.7 runs per game this season. Williston does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
