Basketball Game Preview: Andover Trojans vs. Goddard Lions

Andover is 9-1 against Goddard since February of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Andover Trojans are taking a road trip to take on the Goddard Lions at 7:30 p.m. Andover will be strutting in after a victory while Goddard will be coming in after a loss.

Andover took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 70-35 win over Eisenhower. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 36-16.

Andover can attribute much of their success to Walker McClellan, who made all 6 shots he took for 15 points and eight rebounds, and Joshua Kim, who went 8 of 16 on his way to 20 points. Kim's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Griffin Hand, who posted ten points.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 56 points the game before, Goddard was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They took a hard 48-29 fall against Salina Central.

Andover's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.1 points per game. As for Goddard, they now also have a losing record at 1-2.

Andover strolled past Goddard in their previous meeting back in February by a score of 85-66. Will Andover repeat their success, or does Goddard have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
