Softball Recap: Polk County Takes a Loss

Polk County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the McMinn Central Chargers, falling 11-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Chargers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-6 back in March.

Polk County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zoie Hatcher, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Polk County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for McMinn Central, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-6.

Coming up, Polk County will square off against Ooltewah at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for McMinn Central, they will take on Meigs County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Chargers surely won't give up without a fight.
