Calhoun and Brown County are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2015, but not for long. The Warriors will face off against the Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

On Wednesday, Calhoun came up short against Mendon Unity and fell 2-0.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Mendon Unity scored at least 17 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Brown County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Rushville-Industry.

Brown County actually scored more points across those three sets (69-68), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 18-25, 25-22.

Calhoun's defeat dropped their record down to 18-9. As for Brown County, their loss dropped their record down to 8-14.

Calhoun was able to grind out a solid win over Brown County in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
