Basketball Game Preview: Corsicana Tigers vs. Midlothian Panthers

Corsicana is 0-8 against Midlothian since January of 2019 but things could change on Friday. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Corsicana Tigers face off against the Midlothian Panthers at 1:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Corsicana is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game on Saturday. They took a blow against Independence, falling 95-23. The matchup marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Midlothian's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 48-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mansfield Timberview. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 128th, while the Wolves are ranked 45th).

Midlothian's defeat dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Corsicana, their loss dropped their record down to 5-14.

Corsicana came up short against Midlothian when the teams last played back in February of 2022, falling 40-30. Can Corsicana avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
