Basketball Recap: Hutchinson Drops Highest Score of Season Against Derby

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hutchinson). They managed a 58-54 win over the Derby Panthers on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Salthawks: when they faced off against the Panthers back in January, they had to take a 51-34 defeat.

Hutchinson has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Derby, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 14-3.

The future could be bright for both Hutchinson and Derby: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Hutchinson will try to hand Haysville Campus their fourth-straight defeat when the two meet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Derby will look to extend Maize's three-game losing streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
