Basketball Game Preview: Carlmont Scots vs. Sacred Heart Prep Gators

The Carlmont Scots will head out on the road to challenge the Sacred Heart Prep Gators at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Carlmont comes in on six and Sacred Heart Prep on three.

On Friday, Carlmont slipped by Menlo-Atherton 47-46.

Meanwhile, Sacred Heart Prep's game on Friday was all tied up 35-35 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 65-63 victory over Priory.

Sacred Heart Prep's win came from a few key players Carlmont will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Alex Osterloh, who went 7 of 13 en route to 16 points and seven rebounds. Those seven boards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alberto De Bernardis, who posted 11 points and seven rebounds.

Carlmont is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 12-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.7 points per game. As for Sacred Heart Prep, their record is now 11-6.

Carlmont and Sacred Heart Prep were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, but Carlmont came up empty-handed after a 47-46 defeat. Can Carlmont avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
