            Softball Preview: Heritage Patriots vs. Dougherty Valley Wildcats        
        
		
        
        
            The Heritage Patriots will head out to  face off against the Dougherty Valley Wildcats  at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
Liberty hit Heritage with a four-run fifth inning  on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Patriots lost  7-1 to the Lions. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Meanwhile,  there's no place like home for Dougherty Valley, who bounced back after a  loss on the road  two weeks ago. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Dublin two weeks ago, sneaking past  9-8. The  victory was some much needed relief for the Wildcats as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
 Katie Osborn was a  major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned  (and seven unearned) runs off   seven  hits. Osborn was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 2-for-4 with four  stolen bases, three  runs,  and one  double. Those  four  stolen bases gave  her a new career-high.
 In other batting news,  Lauren Lohe was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with two  RBI and one  double. That's the most  RBI  she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of  Sydney Henry, who  went 2-for-4 with two  runs and two  RBI.
 Dougherty Valley was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .400. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their  batting average total in three consecutive  contests.
 Dougherty Valley now  has a winning record of 10-9. As for Heritage, their loss dropped their record down to 13-10-1.
