Basketball Game Preview: Walthill Blujays vs. Omaha Christian Academy Eagles

The Walthill Blujays will venture away from home to challenge the Omaha Christian Academy Eagles on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Last Friday, Walthill ended up a good deal behind High Plains and lost 75-57. While losing is never fun, the Blujays can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 256th, while the Storm are ranked 119th).

Meanwhile, Omaha Christian Academy played a tough game last Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Tekamah-Herman 69-31. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-11.

Walthill will have to keep a close watch on Jeevan James and Nathan Friesen, a pair of players who had a big impact on Omaha Christian Academy's prior game. James went 6 for 13 on his way to 16 points, while Friesen posted ten points. The dominant performance gave James a new career-high in points.

Omaha Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Walthill, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-6.

Everything came up roses for Walthill against Omaha Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, as the team secured an 83-45 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Walthill since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
