Basketball Game Preview: Sierra Stallions vs. Vista Ridge Wolves

The Sierra Stallions will square off against the Vista Ridge Wolves at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Sierra is headed into the matchup having just posted their biggest win since December 9, 2023 on Friday. They blew past Cheyenne Mountain, posting a 49-20 victory.

Sierra got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Deja Burns out in front who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 blocks. Burns is crushing it when it comes to blocks: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Shetara Roebuck, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 steals.

Sierra smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Vista Ridge waltzed into their contest on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They couldn't have asked for a better start to 2025 than the 69-26 blowout they got against the Panthers. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 36-11.

Vista Ridge had a senior duo take command as Jasmine Byers went 10 of 20 on her way to 26 points and six steals and Brooklyn Kaiser dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Byers has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Meadow Huestis, who posted six points in addition to ten boards and five assists.

The victory got Sierra back to even at 4-4. As for Vista Ridge, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.
