Football Recap: Northgate Starts Season with Victory on the Road + How To Watch

Northgate had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They snuck past the Starr's Mill Panthers with a 27-21 win on Friday. Surprisingly, this marked the Vikings' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Northgate found their leader in sophomore Woody Schettini, who rushed for 252 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries. Schettini's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 164 rushing yards dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Treveon Gill, who picked up 88 receiving yards and one score.

Northgate was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 321 rushing yards. They rushed for 119 more rushing yards than Starr's Mill's also-impressive total of 202.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northgate will face off against Villa Rica at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Starr's Mill, they will take on Whitewater at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
