Football Recap: Northgate Starts Season with Win Against Starr's Mill + How To Watch

Northgate had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They secured a 27-21 W over the Starr's Mill Panthers. For the Vikings, this counts as revenge for the 35-14 win the Panthers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

Woody Schettini had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 252 yards and three TDs on only 13 carries. Those 252 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Treveon Gill was another key player, picking up 88 receiving yards and one touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Northgate was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 321 rushing yards. They rushed for 119 more rushing yards than Starr's Mill's also-impressive total of 202.

Northgate wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 12-9 victory against Villa Rica on the 22nd. As for Starr's Mill, they have also already played their next game, a 49-20 defeat against Whitewater on the 22nd.
