Basketball Recap: Cedar Bluffs Takes a Loss

Cedar Bluffs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were one points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 43-42 heartbreaker at the hands of the Omaha Christian Academy Eagles. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their defeat to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in January.

Despite the loss, Cedar Bluffs still got an impressive performance from Carter Hermanson, who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine boards. The dominant performance gave Hermanson a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dawson Novotny, who posted eight points.

Nathan Friesen was a one-man wrecking crew for Omaha Christian Academy as he almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Carter Eveland, who put up five points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Cedar Bluffs' loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Omaha Christian Academy, they moved to 1-3 with that victory, which also ended their seven-game losing streak.

Cedar Bluffs didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 62-29 win against Whiting on the 20th. As for Omaha Christian Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 69-31 defeat against Tekamah-Herman on the 20th.
