Baseball Game Preview: Rockwood Tigers vs. Midway Green Wave

Rockwood is on an eight-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Midway a four-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Wednesday. The Rockwood Tigers will host the Midway Green Wave at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Rockwood lost 20-1 to Harriman on Wednesday.

Maryville Christian hit Midway with a ten-run seventh inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Green Wave came up short against the Eagles, falling 18-3.

Rowynn McClure was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and six unearned) runs off eight hits. What's more, he gave up only three walks, the fewest he's had since back in March.

At the plate, Midway saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dawson Buckner, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Rockwood's defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Midway, their loss dropped their record down to 8-17-1.
